ST.LOUIS POST – DISBATCH: Q&A: Valerie June moves into new territory on new album

Singer-songwriter Valerie June made a splash with her debut album, 2014’s “Pushin’ Against a Stone,” an engaging and entrancing amalgam of rock, folk, blues and country she summarized as “organic moonshine roots music.”

Her new album, “The Order of Time,” finds her moving into new sonic territory, thanks in part to producer Matt Marinelli, whose work gives June’s expansive tunes — which are not new but rather culled from her laptop, which contains hundreds of songs she’s written over the years — plenty of room to breathe. June spoke to Go! Magazine via email.  Read more here.
